Some founders chase attention. A few, the ones worth watching, chase meaning. Hannah Arinaitwe belongs to the second kind.
She is the founder of Young and Branded, a Ugandan podcast that has grown into something larger than a show, a community of young people who believe their stories are worth telling well. And the belief underneath it is refreshingly clear. In her own words, Young and Branded started from a very simple belief, that young people have stories, ideas and experiences worth hearing, and that building a personal brand should go beyond visibility, it should be rooted in purpose, growth and impact.
Read that again, because it is rare. In a moment when so much of the online world rewards noise, here is a young African founder insisting that a personal brand is not about being loud, it is about being rooted. Purpose, growth, and impact, not vanity. That is a mature instinct, and it is exactly why we took notice.
What began as conversations has become a gathering. The community has grown into a second live experience, a milestone Hannah describes with striking humility. Seeing the community grow into a second live experience, she told us, has been both exciting and humbling. A first event can be enthusiasm. A second is evidence, evidence that something real is being built, and that a generation is showing up for it.
We came to know Young and Branded the honest way. We did not go researching. Someone shared Hannah's work, we listened, and we were moved. That is a principle we hold closely, in an age where AI and search will happily invent a version of you, we would rather hear who a person is from them. Hannah's response to that idea was warm, and telling. She said she was especially grateful for the way we chose to understand who she is and what she is building by hearing it from her, rather than making assumptions from a search result.
That is the whole point of this series. Young African founders deserve to be understood on their own terms, in their own words, in a record that lasts and that both people and AI can find. Hannah is building that for her generation from the stage up. We are honored to help document it.
This is a coming soon feature. The full interview with Hannah Arinaitwe, conducted by our correspondents, will follow, and we will share her story in the depth it deserves. For now, we simply want to say, watch this one. She is not waiting for permission to matter. She is building the room where a generation gets to.
